GTA Online Freemode gets werewolves, shrinking domes, and hot contraband

16.09.2015 |  Game News

GTA Online's big Freemode Events Update is live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and the streets have become a lot livelier. You'll find more than a dozen new activities popping up around Freemode servers, which means far fewer loading screens between you and the action.

Here's the full list of new Freemode Events - make sure you check out our hands-on preview for more details. Also note that you'll get a GTA$50,000 bonus and a Vapid shirt if you complete five of these events by Sunday.

Hunt the Beast: One player becomes faster, stronger, and hirsute-er while trying to escape death at the hands of everybody else.

King of the Castle: King of the Hill matches are liable to break out at any time; get to the elevated target area and keep everybody else from invading your tiny kingdom.

Hot Property: Grab a briefcase and hold on to it for as long as possible as you escape by land, air, or sea.

Moving Target: Whoever gets into the reinforced vehicle first has to then deliver it to a set location. The vehicle has a ton of armor, but everybody trying to stop it probably has rockets and sticky charges (as usual).

Checkpoint Challenge: A series of checkpoints appear across the landscape, and whoever races through them all first wins.

Kill List / Kill List Competitive: Take out Merryweather Security mercenaries for bonus GTA$ and RP.

Dead Drop: Fight to claim lucrative contraband, then get it to the drop-off point. Sounds a lot like the airfield missions Trevor can do in Story Mode.

Penned In: Get inside the giant dome, then stay inside as it starts to move and shrink - linger outside (read: get rammed out) for more than seven seconds and you'll explode.

Criminal Damage: Cause as much destruction as possible with no cops in sight. Whoever racks up the biggest property damage bill wins.

Hold the Wheel: An otherwise vulnerable ride like a Sanchez or Golf Cart becomes indestructible, and whoever rides it for the longest wins. Just remember that you are still very much destructible while you're driving it.

Time Trial: Get the fastest time on a new course every week. Beating personal bests and worldwide records will come with commensurate GTA$ and RP rewards.

Freemode Challenges: You'll also find 19 different challenges for stuff you probably already do in Freemode, like trying to get the longest jump or falling from the longest distance without pulling your parachute. The top 3 finishers of any given challenge will get GTA$ and RP.
